Shaanti reveals the line-up for its massive London launch that will take place at The Marquee Club, on Saturday 23 July.

Music legends, Mercury Music Prize Winner Talvin Singh (Anokha-DJ Set) and Joi (Original Asian Breakbeat Fusionists - Real World Records) will headline the launch along with Tigerstyle, Drummer percussionist FRATTS (live) and Shaanti resident DJs, DJ Buj, Rich Reason and Manga from Galaxy FM.

Since its opening in 1999, Shaanti has earned a worldwide reputation as one of the finest underground club-night on the planet. What started out as a vehicle to play their favourite records to their friends has turned into somewhat a global institute. Combining fusion and electronic eastern dance-beats in all its modern forms together with a whole lot of visually stimulating décor and a dedicated crew of punters the Shaanti collective keeps on moving from strength-to-strength, delivering a diverse programme of events as well as supporting new talent with its unique atmosphere.

As well as having held sell-out events with artists including Asian Dub Foundation, Nitin Sawhney, Transglobal Underground (resident), Martin Morales (resident), Pressure Drop, The Runaways, Future World Funk, The Outernationalists, Panjabi MC, Bhangra Knights, Robert Miles, Cosmic Rocker (USA) MIDIval Punditz (India) DJ Nasha (India) and many more.

As they continue hosting the very best music in clubbing history, Summer also sees the release of Fused Rocking Beats Vol.1 (31 August nationwide) and ‘Panjabi Mafia presents...Desi Cutz 1’ a limited edition underground mix-tape (30 July) launched via their imprint label, Shaanti Play Records.

With a forward thinking approach to music, Shaanti helps put global electronic and Asian dance music centre stage and now they’re releasing their vibe down South, bi-monthly at the setting of their new home - the legendary Marquee Club - in Leicester Square, London. Shaanti’s second residency will give them full artistic control and a chance to throw a few surprises into the mix.
