Superstar Amitabh Bachchan, who is recuperating at Lilavati Hospital in suburban Bandra after intestinal surgery, today showed more signs of improvement, taking a brief stroll inside the intensive care unit (ICU) where he is admitted.
Apart from the brief stroll, the Bachchan family members, namely wife Jaya, son Abhishek and daughter Shweta also spent almost an hour with the superstar, Samajwadi party leader and a close Bachchan friend Amar Singh told reporters here today.
Singh said the entire Bachchan family was happy with the progress of the star and it appears that `Bachchan has recovered 70 per cent.`
"However, the Bachchan family members wish that Amitabh stays in the ICU for at least 3-4 more days as it would give him further rest and will be under the observation of the doctors," Singh said.
Once Amitabh moved out of the ICU, there will be a stream of visitors and a person like Amitabh cannot stop meeting people visiting him, Singh said.
He denied reports that the superstar was likely to be taken to the US for treatment. "Amitabh and Mumbai are made for each other," Amar Singh said, adding the star was on his way to recovery.
"More over, it was Amitabh who wished to be shifted to Mumbai from Delhi so that his usual family doctors could treat him," Singh added.
